The Kettle & Cane Story
Handcrafted in Small Batches
Our candies are crafted by hand, not churned out on an industrial production line. Working in small batches allows us to pay close attention to every cook, pull, pour, cut, and finish. It is a slower and more deliberate way of making candy, but we believe that care can be tasted in the finished product.
Better Ingredients, Better Candy
Great candy starts with great ingredients. We choose real cane sugar instead of beet sugar, glucose syrup instead of high-fructose corn syrup, and natural flavors and colors whenever possible. We believe quality ingredients produce better flavor, better texture, and a confection that simply tastes more authentic.
Inspired by the Southwest
Our home in New Mexico gives us access to flavors and ingredients that make our confections uniquely Southwestern. Prickly pear, blue agave nectar, local honey, and New Mexico red chile bring distinctive character to our recipes and connect every piece of candy to the landscape, culture, and culinary traditions of the Southwest.
Over a Decade of Confectionery Experience
For more than a decade, we have been crafting high-quality confections with a focus on flavor, texture, and traditional candy-making techniques. Our experience spans everything from small-batch production to private-label manufacturing for established brands, giving us a deep understanding of what makes a truly memorable confection.
Rooted in the American Candymaking Tradition
We draw inspiration from turn-of-the-century recipes and the great American candy makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was an era when confectionery was a craft, and many American recipes rivaled the finest European traditions. We preserve that spirit by combining old-fashioned techniques with carefully selected ingredients and distinctly Southwestern flavors.
Made in Albuquerque, Enjoyed Everywhere
We are located in the heart of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where we bring the flavors and spirit of the Southwest into everything we make. Over the years, we have also produced white-label and private-label confections for dozens of brands. Chances are, you may have already enjoyed something we made under one of our customers’ names. Today, we bring that same experience, craftsmanship, and attention to quality to Kettle & Cane.
